Non-Orthogonal Replication Scheme for ALOHA Uplink in LPWAN

In this work, we address a novel replication scheme for Internet-of-Things (IoT) low power wide area networks (LPWAN), considering the ability of gateway to recover, through successive interference cancellation (SIC), superposed signals in domain. We show that introduced mathematical framework matches Monte Carlo simulations. The proposed outperforms typical transmission schemes, at least from 1 2 orders magnitude, terms outage probability. also fits well with previous outperforming their versions without non-orthogonal replications. Moreover, can be robust cases high SIC imperfection, presenting slight performance losses even very harsh scenarios, as long constraints are met. Finally, conclude more energy efficient than schemes and achieve better reliability traffic-loaded networks.
